Continuing the Conversation: Your Digital Resource Pack from the Black Man’s Burden Conference 2026

We are excited to share the long-awaited digital goody bag from the Black Man’s Burden: The Crisis in Black Mental Health conference held on Wednesday, May 27th, at Kingsholm Rugby Stadium, Gloucester. This collection of valuable resources is designed to support the ongoing work of promoting mental health equity within the Black community. Here, you’ll find speaker slide presentations, some books for Audrey’s bookshelf, a directory of therapists, and short video clips capturing key moments from the conference, alongside the full edited film of the day.

Personally, I am still recovering from the profound impact of the conference. In my blog, I described feeling “exhausted with joy,” a sentiment that continues, as each day brings new conversations and connections sparked by the event. I remain humbled by the many calls, emails, and messages from individuals who heard about the conference, expressed regret at missing it, and eagerly await the next gathering.

I am forever grateful to our sponsors, Barnwood Trust and Black South West Network (BSWN), to everyone who contributed to the day, and last but certainly not least, to you, the attendees, for showing up, engaging wholeheartedly, and sharing how meaningful this experience has been. Together, and with the ongoing partnership of Barnwood Trust and BSWN, we are building momentum to break stigma, foster healing, and empower lasting change in Black mental health.
